First elected to the board of directors in 2008, Aspling now marks her 13th year in her leadership position on the board of directors. She replaces Patricia (Pat) Moreno, who served as chair for the past seven years and who has been a board member since 2004.

“Deborah has been an integral part of a stable leadership team that has steered the credit union on a strategic course to build member value through sustainable growth and long-term organizational health. She has deep experience in financial management, strategic planning, and budgeting,” said Pat Moreno. “While serving as Board Vice-Chair for Travis Credit Union, Deborah has been instrumental in helping to lead initiatives to promote financial education in the communities the credit union serves. In addition, she has persistently worked with Congress to advocate on behalf of credit unions.”

For more than 15 years, Aspling has served in a principal role for the multiple award-winning financial institution, which was named “Best Credit Union” in Solano County by the Reader’s Choice Awards for the twenty-fourth consecutive year. In addition, Travis Credit Union was named as one of Forbes’ Top 10 Credit Unions in California.

“I am honored to be named Travis Credit Union’s Board Chair,” said Aspling. Having partnered with Pat, I feel well prepared to assume this new responsibility and lead Travis Credit Union into its next generation of banking excellence. I am grateful for the support of our exceptional directors, the leadership from my experienced management team, and the hard work and integrity our staff demonstrate every day.

The accelerated pace of today’s financial environment has been further complicated by recent world events. As we move forward in this new reality, Travis Credit Union will continue to serve as a critical community resource by successfully adapting to rapid change.”

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and everyone at Travis Credit Union, we would like to thank Pat Moreno for her years of dedicated service to this great organization and the entire credit union industry. Her list of achievements is extensive; however, her most lasting and remarkable success is the positive impact she’s made on every person she’s encountered in the industry,” stated Aspling. “She cares deeply about helping people, businesses and communities pursue their most ambitious dreams. And, her legend as the Travis Credit Union Board Chair is surpassed only by the strength of her character.”

Serving alongside Aspling is newly elected Vice Chairman Kevin Burke, who has a long-standing history of creating a positive community culture and improving organization’s financial performance.

Doug Beaumont is stepping up again as Treasurer. Doug has been a member of Travis Credit Union’s Board of Directors for four years and served on the Supervisory Committee from 2013 through 2017.

Board Secretary Mary Coburn was also re-elected to a second term in this office. Mary was appointed to the Supervisory Committee in 1995 and served as chair until she was elected to the Board of Directors in 2007.

Non-officer Board Directors are as follows: Len Augustine, Dee Alarcon, JP Kirkley, and Brian Howell. Tim Murrill remains an Associate Director while Tom Kulinski remains a Director Emeritus.

The Supervisory Committee remains unchanged: Tim Truesdale (Chair), Johanna Benker (member), and Kari Mulholland (member).

“We will continue to deliver an industry-leading financial performance – and we will do it with ethics and integrity as we work to become the most trusted choice for our members and the communities we serve,” said Aspling.
