Travis Credit Union Foundation Offering Second Round of COVID-19 Relief to Ten Community Partners

July 26, 2021

Vacaville, CA – The Travis Credit Union Foundation's COVID-19 Relief program started its second phase on July 24, 2021. The Foundation launched an immediate philanthropic campaign to support 10 community organizations in five counties in order to alleviate long-term economic problems brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. Donations from the general public will be matched up to $10,000 by the Travis Credit Union Foundation, which will provide grants to each nonprofit from Napa, Solano, Contra Costa, Merced, and Yolo counties.

Two non-profits from Contra Costa County are part of these efforts: Monument Crisis Center and Trinity Center. Monument Crisis Center is a community-based non-profit family resource center in Contra Costa County. The Center offers nutritious food, quality resources, and referrals to low-income individuals and families to help them become stable and secure in our community. Trinity Center is a non-residential program serving homeless and working poor adult men and women in Walnut Creek and Central Contra Costa County.

In Merced County, Travis Credit Union Foundation is raising funds for Merced County Community Action Agency and Merced County Food Bank. Merced County Community Action Agency is a non-profit focused on fighting poverty in Merced County. The Agency provides services through approximately 13 programs to over 50,000 citizens in every town within the county boundaries. Merced County Food Bank promotes the well-being of Merced and Mariposa County residents by acquiring, storing, and distributing healthy food.

Two Napa County non-profits are taking part in this year's COVID-19 Relief program: Community Resources for Children and Puertas Abiertas. Community Resources for Children provides resources for the early care and education of children in Napa County. Puertas Abiertas seeks to build a healthy, integrated community in which no one is left behind and everyone has equal access to services, resources, and civic participation.

In Solano County, the Foundation is raising funds for Community Action North Bay and Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano. Community Action North Bay provides housing and safety net services to vulnerable Solano County residents, allowing them to live healthy and productive lives. Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano distributes food directly to low-income residents and makes food available for other non-profit organizations serving the ill, needy, and children.

The focus in Yolo County is on two non-profits: Empower Yolo and Yolo Food Bank. Empower Yolo provides crisis intervention, emergency shelter, confidential counseling, legal help, and other services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and child abuse. Yolo Food Bank is dedicated to alleviating poverty and increasing food security. The non-profit is addressing the nutrition needs of over 45,000 Yolo County people each month.

All of the organizations receiving support are Travis Credit Union Foundation's (non-profit) community partners that have already aligned with the credit union to serve its members by providing free financial education opportunities as well as those providing essential services throughout the pandemic.

The Travis Credit Union Foundation was founded in 2018 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated solely to charitable and educational causes.
