“These changes are all about helping our members better use their hard-earned money,” said Kevin Miller, TCU President and CEO. “We want to provide value and make it easier for people to manage their day-to-day finances because that’s what we do.”
TCU has discontinued the $5 Overdraft Transfer Fee, which was previously assessed for transfers from a TCU Share Account, line-of-credit or a TCU credit card when funds were not sufficient to cover checks or other authorized payments. TCU also extended the grace amount before a non-sufficient funds fee is triggered, from $5 to $30. This gives members more opportunity to bring their balances current if their accounts are overdrawn.
Says Miller, “These fee removals demonstrate TCU’s commitment to its people-first philosophy. This gives consumers a clear choice when compared to big banks that typically charge higher fees than credit unions.”
Along with removing those and other fees, Travis is also offering up to Two Day Early Pay with direct deposit. This early payday change means that members who are enrolled in direct deposit will have their paychecks available up to two days early. This allows them to better meet their financial obligations on time. On-time payments help build a stronger credit score, which then results in better interest rates on loans.
“We’re on this journey to help people improve their financial wellness so our members can achieve their short- and long-term goals. With every step, we’re making it easier to do your banking with TCU,” Miller said.
