Free Document Shredding
and E-Waste Drop Off
On Feb. 25, we held a free document shredding and E-waste drop off event at our corporate headquarters in Vacaville. We also handed out information on how to prevent identity theft. The event sponsors were Travis Credit Union, the Better Business Bureau of Solano County and Security-Shred, Inc.
VITA Tax Preparation Sessions
Travis Credit Union, along with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program conducted free tax preparation sessions in February and March for individuals whose income was less than $49,000 in 2011. This annual service was open to the community and helped hundreds of people complete their tax returns over the past years.
Military Saves Week, Travis AFB
Travis Credit Union participated in the annual Military Saves Week, held at TAFB from Feb.19–26, 2012. Free seminars and workshops were provided to encourage servicemen and women to improve their financial readiness for themselves, and their families. The kick-off event was held at our TAFB Branch, and free Piggy Banks were handed-out during Youth Day, Feb. 24.
Woodland Saturday Night Fights
Travis Credit Union was again a sponsor of a community boxing event held March 3 in Woodland. TCU supported a similar event held on Dec. 16, 2011.
